One of the more bizarre pieces of information to be made public on Senator in waiting, Roland Burris, age 71, are reports of his already constructed mausoleum listing his achievements. Roland Burris, Gov. Rod Blagojevich's controversial choice to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the US Senate, has already begun work on his memorial in Oak Woods Cemetery on Chicago's South Side. His tombstone boldly proclaims, "TRAIL BLAZER" and includes a list of his accomplishments, with space left for future ones. Burris built a mausoleum to himself with a list of his accomplishments he prefixes with "First African-American in Illinois to become." Dude, no joke but Governor Rod Blagojevich is my favorite American politician today.

If it was not for Blago, I would have never known Roland Burris ever existed and that would be a damn shame. This is Gov. Rod Blagojevich way of saying "Fuck You" to all of America in his last days in office and probably his last days of freedom. I love this dude because if I was in his shoes (facing up to 20 years in prison) I would be throwing firebomb too. LOL... Roland Burris has erected a grand mausoleum for himself, carved with the words "TRAIL BLAZER" and a long list of his achievements, with a space left for his more recent accomplishments. So, the question now is how Roland Burris, Illinois's newest senator, plans to update his pre-carved mausoleum?

He was pretty clever: leaving just enough space to allow an additional line or two, while still preserving a decent overall appearance in case he didn't have anything else to add before he died. I admire that kind of forethought.


But Burris carved himself into a corner when he set up his bullet list with the label "First African-American in Illinois to become"...

Because now he's a U.S. senator, which is a pretty big deal and definitely would make the list of things to put on your mausoleum but he's not the first African-American senator from Illinois by a long shot.

What to do, what to do? Oh, I know!

On December 14, 2008, Burris suggested himself as a possible caretaker for the United States Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, saying he would not run for reelection if appointed. This suggestion came in the wake of an FBI investigation regarding charges of corruption by the Governor for seeking bribes in a pay-to-play scheme for the empty Senate seat and other offenses. Burris himself has not been implicated in the scheme or accused of any wrongdoing. On December 30, 2008, Governor Blagojevich announced that he was naming Burris to the seat.

On January 5, 2009, Secretary of the United States Senate Nancy Erickson rejected Burris' certificate of appointment to the Senate as invalid. Because Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White had refused to sign the certificate, Erickson concluded in her findings that the certificate did not conform to Senate Rule 2. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid agreed with Erickson.

Legal experts have differing opinions on whether the Illinois Secretary of State's signature is required by both the United States Constitution and Illinois law. In an interview aired on National Public Radio on December 30, 2008, the former Illinois governor James R. Thompson said that the certification of the governor's choice is a routine administrative matter and not at the Secretary of State's discretion. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White said that he believes his signature is "mostly ceremonial, rather than a point of law." White maintained that he would not sign a certification for anyone appointed by Blagojevich, including Burris, unless compelled to do so by a court. On January 9, 2009, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled that the governor's appointment does not require any additional certification.

Reid initially said that the Senate would not seat Burris, citing Article I, Section 5 of the United States Constitution, which states that "Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members". Reid and other senators had previously stated, before Burris was in contention, that they would use Article I authority against any appointment by Blagojevich. The Senate may also refer the appointment to the Rules Committee, thus stalling it until Blagojevich's status is settled.

Burris filed a lawsuit with the Illinois Supreme Court to compel White to certify his appointment documentation and appeared in Washington at the January Congressional swearing-in ceremony (January 6) to claim his seat, but was denied entry into the Senate chambers. I have always thought that New Jersey (Hudson county mainly) as the most corrupt state in America but Illinois (Chicago) is a true contender. U.S. Senate Democratic Leaders have vow to block Roland Burris from being seated just moments after he was appointed.

Blagojevich was arrested earlier this month on federal charges that he tried to sell or trade the seat to the highest bidder. Blagojevich has denied wrongdoing and vowed to stay in office.

Blagojevich's lawyer had said earlier that the governor did not plan to defy the Senate leaders and impose an Obama successor on them.

Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has said that Illinois Gov. Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn should make the appointment, and the Senate Democratic caucus signed a letter supporting that option.

Reid said in a letter to the governor: "Please understand that should you decide to ignore the request of the Senate Democratic Caucus and make an appointment we would be forced to exercise our Constitutional authority under Article I, Section 5, to determine whether such a person should be seated."

Blagojevich's lawyer, Ed Genson, had told a news conference Dec. 17 that the governor did not plan to try to make the appointment. "Harry Reid said that they're not going to accept anybody, so why would he do that?" Genson said.

Blagojevich announced the appointment at a 3:00 p.m. news conference, defying his critics at home and in Washington.

Burris became the first black politician to win statewide office when he was elected comptroller in 1978 — the first of three terms. He served one term as the state's attorney general, but he failed in three attempts at the Democratic nomination for governor, losing to Blagojevich in 2002.

It's official: Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is doing Saturday Night Live. The McCain campaign confirmed the Alaska Governor will make a guest appearance on this weekend's SNL show with host Josh Brolin. For the past few weeks, Tina Fey has been doing an interesting impersonation of Gov. Sarah Palin which the governor has been taking in stride. Today we learn Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to travel to New York this Saturday for an appearance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in what will certainly be the highest rating show ever.


"Saturday Night Live" has enjoyed a ratings surge this fall thanks to the heated attention surrounding the election and Gov. Sarah Palin. The show's ratings are up by more than 40 percent compared to the first few weeks of last season, drawing 9 million viewers per week for original episodes (last week's show was a rerun). A pair of "Weekend Update" Thursday specials have averaged 9.6 million viewers over the past two weeks.

Sarah Palin discussed her upcoming "Saturday Night Live" appearance on Friday, telling Neal Boortz in a radio interview that she does not know what the late-night sketch comedy show has lined up for her while adding that it is a chance to "rise above the political shots that we take."

"I haven't seen a script -- not at all. They haven't even hinted about what that script is going to say," said Palin.

"But you know," she said, "I just want to be there to show Americans that we will rise above the political shots that we take because we're in this serious business for serious challenges that are facing the good American people right now. That's why we're campaigning hard. That's why we're working hard."

Asked if she is going to play Tina Fey, the actress who has been skewering the Alaska governor's debate performances and television interviews, Palin said, "I should. That's a good idea."

She then added: "Oh, I don't know what they have lined up."

Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama have each made appearances on "SNL" during the long campaign, as has Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Clinton. That leaves Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, as the odd man out in the "Saturday Night Live" club so far. But there are two more live shows before Election Day.

PM: There’s a clip of you that’s been shown on television, and it’s all over the Internet on YouTube as well. It’s a very short clip. Do you think it accurately portrays the exchange that you had with Sen. Obama? Obviously there was more to it.

JW: I haven’t seen too much of it to be honest with you – I’ve been working yesterday and today, and the evenings spent with my boy or with my family. So I haven’t spent too much time looking at it. I did notice – I wish the newspaper people, talk shows, I wish they would start off with the very beginning: “Do you believe the American dream?” That was essentially what it came down to for me – was do you believe in the American Dream, you’re not going to punish people for going for it?

PM: To you, what exactly is the American Dream? Can you explain that?

JW: Me personally?

PM: Yeah, you personally.

JW: Me personally, my American Dream was to have a house, a dog, a couple rifles, a bass boat. I believe in living life easy and simple. I don’t have grand designs. I don’t want much. I just wanna be able to take care of my family and do things with them outdoors and that’s about it, really. I don’t have a “grand scheme” thing. My American Dream is just more personal to me as far as working, making a good living and being able to provide for my family, college for my son. Things like that – simple things in life, that’s really what it comes down to for me. That’s my dream.

PM: Do you think your question surprised Obama, caught him off guard at all?

JW: Well that was actually my intent. Most people, you ask them “do you believe in the American Dream?” Nine times out of ten they’ll sit there and go, “Yeah, of course!” That’s where he messed up, because as soon as I asked him that, his answer shows that he doesn’t believe in the American Dream. You know, like the question you asked before – he pretty much contradicted himself. “I don’t want to punish you but – “ Well, you’re going to anyways.

PM: Has there been a lot of media interest in your story? Have you been getting a lot of calls from the media asking you to talk about this?

JW: Neil Cavuto, I was on his show earlier today, just a phone interview for about five minutes. He asked a couple of questions. Then a talk show – Trey Ware – he has a conservative talk show down in San Antonio, Texas – he picked up on it. I’ve had friends call me from all over the nation, saying they heard Rush Limbaugh quote something from me or they’ve heard Hannity quote something. I guess it’s getting quite a bit of play.

PM: What kind of feedback are you getting from friends and family, other than the fact they have heard you being quoted on some very popular talk shows?

JW: Well, my son thinks it’s absolutely the most incredible thing in the world. He loves – I always teach him to speak his mind and to know what he’s talking about before he speaks his mind because usually there’s always someone in the room who will know what you’re talking about. So he just thinks it’s really neat. My friends – well, a lot of them will come to me and ask me political questions just because I think it’s important to know about it – and so they know they’ll get a straight answer from me, even if I don’t like they guy or I do like the guy, you know, I’ll give them the pros and cons of it and let them make their own decisions on it. But some, they know it’s pretty important to me. I was kind of actually nervous about doing any of this, you know, answering calls and going on that show. But they all, you know, said that I always answer them good and so they just said go for it, so they’ve been very supportive.

PM: Do you hope Sen. McCain will talk more about this issue during Wednesday’s debate, you know, taxes for small businesses?

JW: There’s a lot of things I wish McCain would say. As far as this, yes, I would like him to speak. Not so much about small businesses, but just people in general that make this money. It’s not up to them to help America, I mean – let me rephrase that. It’s not – they shouldn’t be taxed more because they’ve succeeded. That’s envy and jealousy. Get off your butt and go work. Don’t sit there and expect the government to give it to you. So I wouldn’t mind him speaking on it like that. I know he couldn’t say it probably like that because that’d turn a lot of people off. But it just – yeah, I guess I would like him to speak about that and a bunch of other things. I’d like to hear him talk about immigration and what he plans on doing about that and with our borders. I mean, there’s a lot of things that haven’t even been addressed in the last two debates.

It seems that Barack Obama is a Very Stupid Man and it just just crazy that no one question the words that came out of his mouth. Obama said "10,000 People Died" in a Kansas Tornado a few months ago but the media couldn't care less and no one around him made an attempt to correct him at the time. Can you just imagine if Gov. Sarah Palin said something that stupid? He exaggerated by 9,988 or made a mistake or whatever you want to call it. This is even stupider than his "I've visited 57 States with one left to go" comment because this show his lack of perspective on a scale that is unimaginable. Sure he might not know how many states there are and sure he might not have remembered the exact death toll but he should have some perspective. Whats up with BHO II when he is stating numbers? Barack Hussein Obama II spokesman Bill Burton said later that the senator meant to say "at least 10," instead of "10,000 people died." If you remember, they said BHO II meant to say 47 instead of 57 when he said "I've visited 57 States with one left to go" but how the hell can someone say 10,000 instead of 10. Thats just bullshit, the man is an idiot that is totally lost without his teleprompter.

"In case you missed it this week, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas, 10,000 people died, an entire town destroyed," Obama said. How stupid could this guy be? I think he is even stupider than Pres. Bush in front of a microphone. There is something wrong with Obama's brain, 10,000 dead would be more than 3 times as many people who died on 9/11 or like 7 times as many people lost in Katrina.

I can see it coming right now. Its not going to be too long in the administration of BHO II until we start hearing that 10,000 really DID die, but Bush was covering it up. LOL

Vice Presidential Debate Moderator Gwen Ifill Accused of Obama Bias

Tonight Gwen Ifill will moderate the Vice Presidential debate, but there’s a big problem. It has been revealed that Ifill is writing a glowing book about Barack Hussein Obama, called The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama, which is set to go on sale on the new President’s inauguration day. Ifill has declined offers for her to withdraw from moderating the debate, despite the fact she has a financial interest in Obama’s success, and the obvious ethical conflict of interest. How dumb is the McCain Campaign to allow an Obama supporter to moderate the Only Vice Presidential debate?

Gwen Ifill appeared on Meet the Press, and said she would not appear on the Don Imus show after he made alleged racist comments. Ifill even heavily criticized her colleagues for appearing on Imus, calling their appearance unethical, and a conflict of interest. Ifill should know, because she is guilty of the same behavior.

Like Oprah, Ifill is putting her race and possible financial gain before all other interests. It’s just too bad she doesn’t practice what she preaches, but I’m sure she won’t lose any sleep, because she is not doing anything different than her liberal media peers are. I just hope her book makes millions and Obama take all of her profits in taxes. They can all suck my cock if they think I am going to pay Obama's tax increases so he can give his supports more welfare. In stories published Wednesday on NationalReview.com and WorldNetDaily's Web site, commentators noted that "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" -- first announced several months ago -- is slated to be released around the inauguration of the next president in January 2009.

"...as if we needed any further evidence of a jaw-dropping double standard, we have to contemplate the sheer impossibility that someone who wrote a positive biography of [John] McCain being chosen to moderate a debate," wrote NationalReview.com's Jim Geraghty on Wednesday.

The book, published by Doubleday, has not yet been released to critics or the public.

In the book, Ifill takes a look at the black political movement's beginnings during the Civil Rights movement that gave way "to a generation of men and women who are the direct beneficiaries of the struggles of the 1960s," according to Amazon.com.

Ifill discussed the book in a interview with The Washington Post on September 4, well before the Commission on Presidential Debates announced the debate moderators.

John McCain has had his complaints about the media this campaign, but says he trusts Gwen Ifill to do a fair job moderating Thursday night's vice presidential debate with running mate Sarah Palin and rival Joe Biden.

"I think Gwen Ifill is a professional and I think she will do a totally objective job because she is a highly respected professional," McCain told Fox News in an interview. "Does this help...if she has written a book that's favorable to Senator Obama? probably not. But I have confidence that Gewn Ifill will do a professional job."

McCain was responding to complaints from some conservative bloggers that Ifill cannot be fair and will slant the debate to help the Obama-Biden ticket. They note that she has a book coming out on Inauguration Day entitled, "The breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," a book they say will sell better if Obama is the new president.

"She's so far in the tank for the Democrat presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out," said blogger Michelle Malkin.

Many of my fellow American are stupid very much like Barack Obama but not many have the nerves to be that dumb and run for president. A lot of American don't know how many states there are actually. Some think there are less than there are like 47 or 48, some think 49, while others think more than the actal number like 51 or 52 and but others are so off that they think it 57 or 58. And yes, some do think there are 60 states. I don't know where they get these numbers from but I do hear people say them but never heard a person with the position Obama has make such mistake. The man is a damn senator, he should know. The American senate has 100 senators, just divide by 2 and you with get 50. I am sick and tired of all the breaks he is getting, they would have laugh him out of the presidential race months ago if he was white, Hispanic or Asian or a woman of any race.

Most American are so damn afraid that they might be called racist that they would let this unqualified man get any with anything. Hopefully when they are in the ballot box they will not vote for the idiot.
