Summer officially kicks off Friday, but
Lauren Conrad and
Audrina Patridge got working on their tans by their pool earlier last week. I cannot really think of a better way to star the Summer and the week than with these

Throughout season one of The Hills, Patridge worked as a receptionist at Quixote Studios (a photo studio) in Los Angeles.
In 2006, prior to filming the second season of The Hills, Patridge began a new job at Epic Records. Patridge moved in with Conrad in the spring of 2007, taking over Montag's role on The Hills as best friend and roommate to Conrad.

According to Lisa Love, the West Coast editor of Vogue who evaluated Conrad for the internship position, Conrad had to interview successfully in order to get the job, "regardless of what the cameras wanted."
Conrad and her reality show appearances have been credited with improving sales of Teen Vogue. In a recent interview, teen vogue editor Lisa Love explains, "We had to let Whitney and Lauren go as they were not needed much longer. Once their show "The Hills" became a big hit, there were way to many fans coming to our L.A offices to meet the girls. It was very loud and noisy. In order to continue our serious working process to publish a great magazine, we need concentration. Unfortunately, these girls were caused many distractions to our other employees (with all the fans yelling and such) and any distraction once so ever is not good. Teen Vogue is a very serious working atmosphere, and we need to stay on task at all times."
She has also developed a new fashion line called "The Lauren Conrad Collection". The line debuted at Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in March 2008.
