Verne Troyer, best known for playing Dr. Evil’s Mini-Me in the last two Austin Powers movies, filed a multimillion-dollar federal lawsuit Thursday against TMZ.com for posting snippets of a sex tape he made sometime over the last year with his then-girlfriend.
The 39-year-old actor says that TMZ disregarded cease-and-desist letters sent both before and after the video showed up on the site.
In addition to the gossip purveyor, which just posted the footage yesterday, Troyer has also sued One Night in Paris peddler Kevin Blatt. He claims that Blatt, who’s known for his celeb-porn brokering ways, somehow acquired the stolen tape and, according to TMZ, is currently entertaining a $100,000 distribution offer from SugarDVD.
The adult-film rental company, which at press time was touting the newfound existence of a “full-length 50 minute video of Mini-Me in bed with a hot, young, FULL SIZED sexy woman” on its website, was also named as a defendant in the suit, per documents filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles and obtained by News.
Troyer, who can currently be seen engaging in shameless little-person humor in The Love Guru, is seeking $20 million in damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and an injunction prohibiting any further showing of the video.
A rep for TMZ didn’t immediately respond to an email request for comment.
Troyer is alleging violation of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, violation of right to publicity and misappropriation of name and likeness. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Troyer, 39, is 2 feet, 8 inches tall (0.81 meters), is seeking more than $20 million in damages, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles.

Other notable roles include a part as the small Bazooka Circus casino employee in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He was a series regular on the UPN comedy Shasta McNasty. He also played Napoleon Bonaparte in the short-lived syndicated series Jack of All Trades.
Troyer appeared as himself in an Apple Computer commercial for its 12-inch and 17-inch PowerBooks, in which he used the larger computer and NBA star Yao Ming used the smaller one. Troyer also appeared on VH1's 4th season of The Surreal Life. Troyer's participation in the show received much media attention when he became drunk and urinated in the weight room's corner while nude on his scooter. Verne returned in 2007 for The Surreal Life: Fame Games, a game show-like version of the show where past cast members returned to see who is the biggest star.
Troyer and Richard Kiel, a very tall 7 ft 1.5 in American actor, are also the protagonists in the Swedish reality show Welcome to Sweden where they travel around in Sweden on scooters. The show was filmed in 2006 and aired on Swedish channel 5 in early 2007.
Troyer has been featured in at least two music videos. For Jamiroquai's single, "Feels Just Like It Should", Troyer played a "free agent" in a white suit and hat. Lead singer, Jay Kay, picked up Troyer by the collar and used him to block incoming laser beams being shot in his direction, then tossed him aside.
